A Study on Relationship of personality trait, Career Maturity, Career Decision Level, Career Search efficacy, and Career Preparation Behavior

Abstract
In order to investigate the relationship between personality and main factors of students" career, a total of 331 college students were surveyed with the tests about LCSI(Lim¡¯ Character Style Invenvory), career attitude maturity, career decision level, career search efficacy, and career preparation behavior. The Pearson product-moment correlation and an one-way ANOVAs were conducted to analyze the relationship and mean difference among personality in subcategories of LCSI and main career tests evaluated by researchers. The results from correlation between LCSI and career attitude maturity test indicated that the character style with motivated to challenge was positively related to the confidence of career success and the career preparation level. Similarly, there were positve relationship between the character style perfering social relationship and the confidence, preparation, independence in the career attitude maturity test, between the character style prefering safty and the preparation. On the other hand, the character style prefering relationship in person was negatively related to the career confidence. The career decision level had positive correlation with the character style perfering scial relationship and prudence. The correlation between LCSI and career search efficacy revealed that the challenge, social relationship, and prudence in the LCSI showed positive relation to all sub-categories of the career search efficacy while the safty in the LCSI was not related to all sub-scales of the career search efficacy. The character style prefering relationship in person and the interview efficacy were positively correlated. Between relationship efficacy and career search efficacy were negatively related. The character styles of social relationship and prudence in LCSI showed positive correlation with the career preparation behavior. The scores in most career tests were significantly lower for the students who showed the character style prefering relationship in person than the scores for who showed the other characters in LCSI. The contribution of the study, implication for career counseling, and suggestion for further study were discussed.
